I started my career in recruitment in 1987 with a London based High Street agency supplying secretarial staff (the days when secretaries were traditional secretaries and aspired to the use of a word processor).
Over this 28 year period I have worked across a wide range of areas including; Accountancy and Finance, Commercial Property, HR, Legal, Marketing, Operations, IT, Renewables etc.
Keen to offer a more personal and individual service to both clients and candidates alike, I joined Application Recruitment as Director in 2009. I was particularly attracted to the people focused nature of the business and the move away from a database approach to recruitment.
I truly enjoy working closely with my clients to help them deliver succession planning across all business areas. I recruit at all levels from back office administration to Board Level, believing that it is just as important to a business to get the administration function right as it is the leadership. I genuinely pride myself on thoroughly getting to know my clients and the culture of their business. This allows my clients to use my expertise across their entire organisation and not in a department specific capacity.
The variety of assignments I typically deal with can be reflected in the recent work for one individual client whose placements included; Senior IT BA, Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, Head of Operations, MD, Collections Advisors, Government Affairs Manager, Stock Control, Head of Risk, Marketing Manager and Logistics Supervisor. I love a challenge and particularly enjoy taking on assignments that don’t conform to the ‘norm’.

Luke graduated from The Royal Military College of Science. Prior to establishing Talent Focus (our partner recruitment company), he was a major in the British Army - serving in Iraq, USA, Africa and Europe - and spent six years as a Director within a leading, Scottish-based Executive Search Company.
Luke is on the committee of Business Forum East and is an awarding Panel Member for Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust.

Louisa is Office Manager at Application Recruitment and is dedicated to making sure all office matters run smoothly; this includes any administration required during recruitment assignments, such as producing interview packs and confirming interview details.
Louisa started out her career as an Office Junior for a landscape gardener before joining the Bank of Scotland as Assistant PA. After a move to London Louisa spent 5 years as PA to the Managing Director of an Executive Search firm.

I love getting to know an organisation properly and helping them to find great people.
Outside of work a lot of my time is taken up with Rainbows, Beavers, Football, Gymnastics, Golf and Swimming (with my wee people!) and when I do get time to myself I enjoy travelling, good food, baking, roller-coasters and dancing.
